QDN is working with Queenslanders with disability to support them to be prepared for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), when it starts from 2016.
Here are some of the things we are doing:
A Local Support Group is a peer group of people with disability, who get together to learn, share stories, make connections and support each other, with a focus on the NDIS.
QDN is establishing 10 Local Support Groups in 2015, with another 10 across Queensland in 2016.
This program is funded through the Disability Support Organisation project, through the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA)
Ready to go is supporting Queenslanders with intellectual or learning disability to get ready for the NDIS, through face to face workshops and online activities facilitated by people with disability.
It's our aim to build the capacity of people with intellectual or learning disability to plan for and be ready for the NDIS.
This project is funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, as part of the NDIS Participant Readiness Initiative.

Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is an organisation of people with disability for people with disability.
We encourage and support ways for you to have a say – and be heard.
We aim to connect you with information about the things that matter to you, and support you coming together with others, through our network of members.
